Transcribe Anything for Mac ยท Effective 22 October 2026
In short: Transcribe Anything collects no data. Your recordings and transcripts stay on your Mac, and nothing about you or how you use the app is sent to us or anyone else.
Who we are
Transcribe Anything is published by Mountain Crest Agency - FZCO ("we"). This policy covers the Transcribe Anything app for macOS.
Your recordings and transcripts
All transcription happens on your Mac, using the speech engine built into macOS or a speech model stored on your Mac. The audio and video files you choose, and the transcripts made from them, are never uploaded. They are stored only where you put them, and the transcripts you export are saved only where you choose.
Links to online videos
When you paste a link, the app contacts the website at that address directly from your Mac to read the page's title and captions, or to stream its sound. That request goes to the site you chose, not to us, and is handled under that site's own privacy policy. The sound is kept in the app's private temporary folder only while it is being transcribed and is deleted straight afterwards. Only the text transcript is kept.
Speech model downloads
If you choose the Whisper or Cohere engine, the app downloads the model file once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Language packs for Apple Speech are downloaded and managed by macOS. These downloads send no personal information and no information about your recordings.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No personal data is collected, stored, sold or shared by us.
Settings stored on your Mac
The app remembers your chosen engine, language and similar preferences in its own storage on your Mac. Deleting the app removes them.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
