Common questions

The engine download is stuck or slow

Whisper and Cohere download their model once, from Hugging Face. It's safe to quit the app and resume the download later.

A language is missing for Apple Speech

macOS installs Apple Speech language packs one language at a time, and has no Russian. Use Whisper instead.

A link fails

Private, live, age-restricted or region-locked videos can't be fetched. Some sites serve certain clips in a way that gives "This video has no audio track".

How do I export subtitles?

Click the Export button in the toolbar, then choose SubRip Subtitles (.srt) or WebVTT Subtitles (.vtt).

How do I get a refund?

Refunds go through Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
